Weekly Tarotcast™: 11-05-19 through 11-12-19
7 of Pentacles (Disks)
The 7 of Pentacles (Disks) is this week’s Tarotcast card – a free Tarot reading for you. This card is also called the 7 of Coins and in my favorite deck – the 7 of Disks. We’re in for a period of evaluation. This is a time to pause, reflect and understand that things bear fruit in the proper season. A lack of this basic understanding can mean the crop doesn’t come in at all. Even the best of plans can fail.
Saturn’s pressure on the Earth combines with the lower vibration of of Venus to blight and ruin the crops. Till it under and begin again.
The Number 7
The Sevens of the Minor Arcana illuminate the motives for manifestation. Balance gives way to questioning and exploration as well as disruption. The sevens dissolve and deconstruct. They have a weakening effect. This applies to direct action, or conscious, mindful and aware inaction. In this case, the weakening effect is the masculinized Female. We are talking about energies here, not cultural concepts of gender or sex.
On the Tree of Life the 7 of Pentacles (Disks) represents the formula 7. Sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory). The sphere of Venus; the masculinized Female. Illusion, imbalance, weakness. In the suit of Disks, the element of Earth. Assiah, the material world; our physical bodies, assets and resources. Plus Saturn in Taurus equaling Failure.
This card represents Saturn in Taurus. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Taurus or May 11th through May 20th. If your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. The energy here can get weighed down, becoming slow and heavy indeed. Taurus’ patient persistence and practical dreams collapse under Saturn’s weight. There is a loss of confidence. This leads to stagnation and the abandonment of all effort.
In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Water-sign Scorpio. Scorpio’s power of regeneration after death and decay can be a positive influence. It balances some of the negatives of this week’s card.
The Full Moon in Taurus on November 12th trines Pluto (the planetary ruler of Scorpio). The downside here is deep absorption of emotional energy. We may have difficulty separating our own emotions from those of people around us. We will take these emotions to heart. The upside is this lunation is generally positive for completion of long-term projects. That may provide the glimmer of hope that gets us through this week with some minor success.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes abandonment of hope. Lack of effort, laziness, sloth and failure.
Let’s focus on confronting our fears. Pausing to stand still and stand strong as we face them. Otherwise all hope will seem like false hope. This isn’t a particularly optimistic card. A more serious and practical approach to current events is necessary. Ignore this, and we’re in for a spectacular failure.
Power colors: olive green, gold, red-orange, rich brown and deep indigo for Taurus. Black, gray and dark brown for Saturn. In this case I would suggest choosing on or the other. Don’t reinforce them in combination.
Power stones: sapphire, emerald, turquoise and jade for Taurus. Obsidian, onyx, jet and garnet for Saturn. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. They will help us stay grounded, patient and aware instead of lazy and negative. Again, I’d choose either/or rather than a combination.
Power metals: lead and copper. Opt for copper and its reported benefits. It may help in reducing or eliminating joint pain, stiffness and inflammation. Skip the lead altogether.
Power fragrances: violet, magnolia, plumeria, rose, apple, vanilla, strawberry, musk and patchouli. It’s a good week to get your hands in some dirt – work in your garden (or a friend’s). Or repot a houseplant. And don’t forget to water! Activities that take you into nature are “grounding.” Take good care of your neck and throat this week – they’ll be more vulnerable than usual.
Power foods: foods prepared with violets (yes, they’re edible!), apple and strawberry. Nightshade family foods such as potatoes, tomatoes, sweet or hot peppers and eggplant. Thyme and vanilla. Also teas brewed from comfrey and valerian. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
