Two of Wands: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading
7-14-20 through 7-21-20
The Two of Wands is this week’s Tarotcast card. The Two of Wands tarot card indicates dynamic energy. There are stresses and tensions – as well as benefits – which come from it. In partnerships and collaborations, there can be friction and conflict. Each person attempts to make their point and share their ideas and feelings. Well-managed, this can result in the release of tremendous creative energy. Channel this into constructive and productive projects.
Here, the element of Fire sparks the pure creativity of The Will. Free of attachment to any specific outcome, it is perfect.
The Number 2
The Twos of the Minor Arcana show balanced but polarized states. The twos are duality. This is our way of seeing and being in the world to understand it. Here we weigh and balance things against their opposites. Good vs. bad, dark vs. light, positive vs. negative. Until we differentiate, we can’t resolve and unify.
On the Tree of Life the Two of Wands represents the Formula 2. Sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom). The sphere of the Zodiac. Divine Masculine energy, Yang. In the suit of Wands (Atziluth, the archetypal world). The element of Fire – our will, plus Mars in Aries equaling Dominion.
The Two of Wands card represents Mars in Aries. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Aries, or March 21st through March 30th. If your birthday falls on or between these dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Mars is the planet of physical energy and is Aries’ ruling planet. It embodies assertiveness and the courage to take action.
In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Water-sign Cancer. The Sun enters Fire-sign Leo on July 22nd, just after this forecast period. Mercury stationed direct in Cancer on July 12th.
“Oh, I’ve seen fire and I’ve seen rain. I’ve seen sunny days that I thought would never end…”
Mars is continuing its long transit of Fire-sign Aries, its home sign. Mars in Aries empowers us. We pursue personal goals. We are ambitious, even aggressive. Independence is our priority. The perfect energetic match to this week’s card, avoid aggression. Take care to think twice before acting on impulse.
The July 20th New Moon in Cancer is the second one of this year. New Moons bring a fresh start. A sense of urgency can push us to make a rushed decision. The drive to move forward is powerful. This is a perfect time for building and maintaining our foundation. This may be our external home or our internal sense of self. The focus remains on family, friends, stability, security and safety.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Two of Wands includes energy running wild. Unbridled egotism and violence, oppression and destruction, domination rather than dominion. When ill-dignified, this energy doesn’t work or play well with others.
Let’s focus on our creative impulses. Summon the courage to take positive and assertive (not aggressive) action this week.
Power colors: scarlet, fiery red, azure blue and deep emerald green.
Power stones: ruby, bloodstone, diamond and garnet. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones as a reminder to avoid negativity and aggression.
Power metals: iron. Not wearable, but a symbol of genuine strength. Find gentle expressions of power. We can choose to make tools, not weapons.
Power fragrances: wild rose, pine, tobacco, and woodbine. These will reinforce positive energies and generate some creative heat.
Power foods: foods prepared with allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
