The Emperor: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading
9-29-20 through 10-06-20
The Emperor is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card represents order and traditional, cultural masculine authority figures. Often, the Emperor represents a father or paternal influence. Business leaders, police and military forces. Also, court systems and governments represent the Yang energy of this card.
This is great energy for getting organized! Logic and left-brain thinking along with creating structure pay off for us this week.
On the Tree of Life the Emperor card travels Path 28. It joins sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory), the Masculinized female with sephiroth or sphere 9, Yesod (Foundation). The sphere of Luna, the crystallization of energy. Its Hebrew letter is Tzaddi, meaning “fishhook”. This is the first letter in the word tzaddik, “righteous man” or holy person. Tzaddi stands for both righteousness and humility.
Mr. Crowley reassigned this Hebrew letter. It is usually associated with The Star card of the Major Arcana. He had his reasons; to agree or disagree with them I will leave up to you. The Thoth Tarot is my preferred deck, and I happen to agree with AC.
The Emperor card is the zodiacal trump of Aries, in which Mars rules and the Sun is exalted. This energy gives us plenty of opportunities to show our leadership skills.
In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Air-sign Libra. Libra is the polar opposite of Aries on the wheel of the Zodiac. This gentle and balanced Yin energy provides a perfect complement to this week’s card. It will be easier to avoid the harsher and more aggressive aspects.
“I used to rule the world… Seas would rise when I gave the word…”
Mars is currently retrograde in Fire-sign Aries. When Mars energy turns inward, we can understand our inner desires and motivations. We may reconsider or re-assess old interests or projects.
On October 1st the Full Moon in Aries reminds us to honor our role in close relationships. This is great energy for improving our physical health. Honing our leadership skills. It may be easier to begin new projects and partnerships. Balance your need for independence and autonomy with valued partnerships.
Pluto turns direct on October 4th. This is ultra-intense energy and a time of heightened sensitivity. We need to feel empowered. Our aims and ambitions are high. The power to make profound changes increases over the next several months.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Emperor card includes aggressive control. Domineering, authoritarian actions, rigid thinking and over-planning. Other things to avoid are irrational, impulsive actions, hyper-sexuality and combative behaviors.
Let’s focus on navigating this strong energy by using the best of it without going overboard. We can exercise personal responsibility and be good grown-ups.
Power colors: scarlet, warm gold tones and any bright, vivid shade of red.
Power stones: ruby, bloodstone, diamond, garnet, black onyx and clear quartz crystal. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. They will help to balance the light-and-dark energies of authority and leadership. They will also temper the fires of ambition and determination.
Power metal: iron. Not wearable but a symbol of endurance and strength. Also stubbornness, so take care.
Power fragrances: eucalyptus, thistle, wild rose, woodbine, pine and tobacco (the scent). These will calm the nerves yet stimulate the mind and body in a positive, focused way.
Power foods: foods prepared with allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. These will give a fiery kick to your recipes this week. Remember fire is a great servant but a dangerous master. Also artichokes and sunflower seeds or oil. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
