From the Aeon Café: Rush

I woke up this morning with this song playing in my head. Doesn’t happen often but when it does, I pay attention. I’m in a hurry to get things done I rush and rush until life’s no fun All I really gotta do is live and die But I’m in a hurry and don’t know why* I’ve never been a huge fan of country music in general or Alabama in particular, and my only real connection to this song comes from back in the days when I was still dating my now ex-husband, who was (and I presume still is) a rabid Nascar fan. Although I like the song and the lyrics well enough, I was left looking for a connection to the present. I think I found one that resonates with Mercury retrograde (yes, we’re in one – until January 25th). I don’t look at retrogrades as mini-apocalypses. I know that rarely can we bow out of life’s responsibilities and suspend all action to wait until a retrograde planet turns direct. I think it’s healthier – and more practical – to deal with the influences as best we can and keep on keepin’ on. So, hitting the pause button …
