Five of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

 6-22-21 through 6-29-21

5 of Cups

The Five of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card. This energy focuses on disappointment, regret and loss. Notice I say focused on. We may be dwelling on negative feelings from past experiences. In fact, we’d be better off focusing on events that are actually occurring here and now, in the present.

The Elements

Here, Fire and Water seek mutual annihilation rather than cooperation. Scorpio’s waters dissolve and putrefy, thwarting Mars’ assertive action.

The Number 5

The Fives of the Minor Arcana challenge order and structure. Their suit and element get shaken out of complacency, stagnation or stasis. They bring a period of cleansing, regeneration, or reassessment in events and relationships. The number 5 keeps energy flowing. Otherwise, the solidification and stability created by the fours would degenerate into inertia.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Five of Cups card represents the formula 5. Sephiroth or sphere 5, Geburah (Strength). The sphere of Mars; motion, aggression, storms and stress. Combined with the suit of Cups (Briah), the creative world, the element of Water – our emotions). Plus Mars in Scorpio equaling “Disappointment.”

Astrology

The Five of Cups card represents Mars in Scorpio. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Scorpio (October 23rd to November 1st). So, if your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. This attribution wouldn’t appear to be a problem. Mars was the traditional ruler of Scorpio before Pluto’s discovery. But issues arise from Mars being too at home here. Mars’ wants fiery, disruptive action while Scorpio seeks watery, deep and secretive transformation.

In real-time astrology, The Sun is transiting Scorpio’s fellow Water sign, Cancer. Mercury is direct in Air-sign Gemini. Delays and information blocks will clear up.

“I can’t get no satisfaction…”

On June 24th we have a Full Moon in Earth-sign Capricorn. This Buck Moon brings awareness of our commitments and responsibilities. Take care of business. Take charge and take the lead. Do some necessary adulting. In addition to the energy of this week’s card, it’s time to do what we can with what we have. Shake off regret and longing.

“Non, rien de rien… Non, je ne regrette rien…”

(No, nothing at all – no I regret nothing…”)

Neptune Retrogrades in Water-sign Pisces on June 25th. Practical issues may seem foggy and confusing. With this week’s card it can be easy to slip into negativity. If used for inner work, we can make valuable discoveries of surprising clarity.

“You had a bad day, you’re taking one down – you sing a sad song just to turn it around…”

On June 27th love is grand, expressive and expansive with Venus in Fire-sign Leo. We can be generous with our praise and with money as well. We look for attention, validation and acknowledgement. Whether we get it or not may be another story. In contrast, we may exaggerate or overdramatize. And we may also overspend on extravagances.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Five of Cups includes resistance to change. We’re unable to release negative feelings and we’re clinging to negative past events. Obsession with past mistakes (our own or those of others) creates bitterness.

Light

Let’s focus on letting bygones be bygones, picking up the pieces, and moving forward. Through conscious choice we can focus on what we DO have rather than what we don’t. This is preferable to dwelling on what we’ve lost or haven’t yet received or accomplished.

Alchemy

Power colors: scarlet red, black, azure blue and deep greenish-blue.

Power stones: ruby, bloodstone, garnet and jet (Mars). Or, choose topaz (Scorpio). Worn as jewelry or carried as power stones, these will help balance and mellow out the intense energy. They allow us to gain new hope by relinquishing the past.

Power metals: iron (Mars) and plutonium (Pluto). Neither is good for wearing. They do remind us that strength coupled with adaptability can serve us well. If ill-used, destruction results.

Power fragrances: heather, wild rose, pine, carnation and poppy. These will help us process past experiences. We can heal, take action in the present and move forward into the future.

Power foods: sweet basil, allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

The Chariot: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

The Chariot: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

6-15-21 through 6-22-21

 VII - The Chariot

The Chariot is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card hums with “go for it” energy. It allows us to show what we have learned through experience and hard work, and to prove our abilities. We know our destination and we’re focused on getting there. We are on a journey, actual or metaphorical. We determine both the course we take and the outcome when we reach our desired destination.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Chariot travels path 18. It joins sephiroth or sphere 3, Binah (Understanding) to sephiroth or sphere 5, Geburah (Severity). This is Major Arcana card number 7. Its Hebrew letter is Cheth, meaning “fence”. Here is a vehicle made to move associated with boundaries and limitations. Does that seem odd? Well, here’s how it works: The Hebrew word for life, living, or alive is “Cha’i,” written in the Hebrew alphabet as, “Cheth Yod”. In Judaism, this word is an emblem of charity, longevity, and good fortune. Pretty good and powerful ways of moving through the world, right?

Astrology

The Chariot tarot card is the zodiacal trump of Cancer, ruled by the Moon, with Jupiter exalted.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit through Air-sign Gemini. It moves into Water-sign Cancer on June 20th. Cancer energy is emotional, intuitive and nurturing. Sometimes hypersensitive and moody, they embody the phases of the ever-changing Moon. And yes, Cancerians can be “crabby.” They are also tenacious. Even if they’re moving sideways (crabwise), they get where they’re going no matter what.

“So if you’re tired of the same old story oh, turn some pages… I’ll be here when you are ready to roll with the changes…keep on rollin’…”

When Jupiter retrogrades in Water-sign Pisces on June 20th we can gain perspective. Slowing down plans or projects helps us to take a fresh look. We may be feeling less than lucky during this transit.

This may clash with the energy of this week’s card, but taking the long view will help.

“The telephone is ringing, you got me on the run I’m driving in my car now – anticipating fun. I’m driving right up to you babe…”

On June 22nd Mercury stations direct in Gemini. Things start moving again as delays and obstacles fall away. Communication and information flow again.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of The Chariot card includes steamrolling others. Becoming an ego-ruled driver who runs down anything in his or her path. Frustration reaching the boiling point. Acting out in road-rage over obstacles, rough patches or detours.

Light

Let’s focus on rolling along with both confidence and compassion. We can benefit by taking well-planned action to maintain a steady course.

Alchemy

Power colors: amber, green, maroon, brownish-reds, and russet.

Power stones: emerald, garnet and amber. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. You’ll enjoy the spirit of adventure and self-discovery this card represents.

Power metal: silver. It balances sensitive lunar energies with the expansive Jupiter blessings coming your way.

Power fragrances: poppy, white rose, cedar, cypress and honeysuckle. Channel the power of the Chariot tarot – and the charioteer – and keep moving toward your goal.

Power foods: foods prepared with watercress and dandelion greens. Season with clove, sage, cinnamon, poppy seed, anise, mint, nutmeg, sage and cardamom. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Ace of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Ace of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

 6-08-21 through 6-15-21

Ace of Cups

The Ace of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card. The aces of the Tarot are the source or seed of their element’s energy. The Ace of Cups embodies the intrinsic powers of the element of Water. Fluidity, receptivity, Yin (Female) energy and water’s power to reflect are all contained in the Ace of Cups. The water element also symbolizes our emotions. The Ace represents our potential to feel and express a range of emotions.

All the Aces of the Tarot can be a bit confusing. They correspond to the Princesses (Pages) of each suit. This connection is stronger than that with cards 2 through 10 of their respective suits. This card has the Princess of Cups as its throne. Together they rule the Libra-Scorpio-Sagittarius celestial quadrant. This is the quadrant of the area above the North Pole and the Pacific Rim. Whew!

The Ace of Cups card represents the possibilities of desire for harmonious union. Love and affection. The mystery of romantic attraction, although all types of love can come into our lives this week.

We are ready to go to the core of our hearts and souls, and we are open and receptive to the deepest feelings of others too. The Ace of Cups holds a sense of newness – birth or rebirth. All things “new” will have a strong appeal. A new love, a new start, a new-found appreciation for life, new (or renewed) emotional connections.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card represents the 1st sephiroth or sphere of Kether (the Crown, origin). Perceived through the element of Water; Briah, the Creative world. Our emotions. The divine soul, intuition.

Astrology

The Ace of Cups holds the energy, qualities and characteristics of the three water signs. These are: 1) Sensitivity (Cancer), 2) desire (Scorpio) and 3) mysticism (Pisces).

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Gemini. Mercury is retrograde in Gemini. We’re dealing with miscommunications, delays and trouble with travel and electronic devices. Mercury remains in Gemini during the entire retrograde period (through June 22nd).

Venus is transiting Water-sign Cancer. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. One benefit of this transit is compassion for others – we’re all members of the human family.

“Reach out your hand if your cup be empty, if your cup is full may it be again,
Let it be known there is a fountain, that was not made by the hands of men.”

On June 10th there is a New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Gemini. This energy brings new beginnings. We look to connect, communicate and learn. We’re active. Combined with the energy of this week’s card, we’re looking for connections of both the heart and mind. We’re curious and open to new experiences. This New Moon conjuncts the Sun and retrograde Mercury. We gain insight into past connections that influence our current situations.

When Mars enters Leo on June 11th, we follow our hearts. We are confident and courageous. We’re in passionate pursuit of our creativity. Avoid overconfidence and arrogance. With the heightened emotions of this week’s card, we may crave attention or create drama.

“It’s coming down on me – water like misery. It’s coming down on me –
I’m ready, rain on me…”

Saturn squares Uranus on June 14th. This generates friction and conflict. We’re torn between the need for freedom and the need for stability. Rules are harder to follow now, but without them life is chaotic. We chafe at conformity but long for security. We’re more frustrated by setbacks and delays.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes vague thinking. Irrational indulgence of the emotions. Creating emotional “tsunamis” that can overwhelm or threaten to drown others (or ourselves).

Light

Let’s focus on inviting and welcoming the healing qualities of water into our lives this week.

Alchemy

Power colors: the true color of the Ace of Cups is pure white brilliance. Also grey, indigo, aquamarine, turquoise and all the various colors of water.

Power stones: aquamarine, beryl, opal, amethyst, blue tourmaline. Also, pearl, coral, blue topaz, blue fluorite, larimar, lapis lazuli and sodalite. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to channel the cleansing and liberating powers of water.

Power metals: mercury and copper. White metals (silver, white gold and platinum). All remind us of water’s power of reflection, refraction and brilliance.

Power fragrances: aloe, gardenia, lilac, lily of the valley, passionflower and rose. Lotuses, water lilies and all water plants. These help us connect with our innermost emotions in a calm, peaceful and powerful way.

Power foods: foods prepared with apple, lemon, lettuce, lotus root, thyme and seaweed. Teas brewed from chamomile or rose hips. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Five of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Five of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

 6-01-21 through 6-08-21

Five of Disks

The Five of Disks is this week’s Tarotcast card. This suit is also called Pentacles or Coins. This card symbolizes anxiety over money or other material resources. All manner of unpleasant “what ifs” and worst-case-scenarios clutter up our thinking. We can feel a change, a shift is coming – the earth is slipping away from beneath our feet.

The challenge is re-thinking the use of our time and energy. We may need to slow down and course correct. Holding on is a drain on our resources.

The Elements

Mercury, the liquid metal illustrates that even the solid Earth must adapt and adjust.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Five of Disks card represents the formula 5. Sephiroth or sphere 5, Geburah (Strength). The sphere of Mars. Motion, storm and stress. In the suit of Disks (Assiah). The material world; the element of Earth. Our physical bodies, assets and resources. Plus, Mercury in Taurus equaling Worry.

Astrology

The Five of Disks represents Mercury in Taurus. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Taurus, or April 21st to April 30th. So, if your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Mercury in Taurus can be patient, practical and conservative. But the wrench in the works here is Mars energy. Disturbing, disruptive and eager for action, it whips up the monkey-mind into a frenzy of worry.

“Trouble… Trouble been doggin’ my soul since the day I was born. Worry… Worry just will not seem to leave my mind alone…”

On June 2nd Venus enters Water-sign Cancer. Venus rules both Taurus and Libra. One benefit of this transit is compassion for others – we’re all members of the human family. Venus trines Jupiter in Pisces during this time. So, our care and concern focus on the innocent and vulnerable.

“Empty prayer, empty mouths – talk about the passion…Not everyone can carry the weight of the world…”

This energy can help us free ourselves from anxiety. We can find a way to stop carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders. Combined with the energy of this week’s card, this will be challenging. If we can find comfort and reassurance in showing empathy, we can ease others burdens as well as our own.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Five of Disks includes harsh judgment. Fear and inflexibility in the face of change. Negative obsession over imagined loss or poverty, and obstinacy.

Light

Let’s focus on careful thought and action. We can work smart rather than hard. If we’re open to adjusting course, we can even exercise some guarded optimism this week.

Alchemy

Power colors: red, orange, indigo, olive and warm brown (for Taurus). Yellow, purple and gray (for Mercury).

Power stones: sapphire, diamond, emerald, turquoise, jade, jasper and topaz. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. They help us stay positive while welcoming change. Remember that sometimes a temporary loss leads to greater gain. And sometimes the things we worry about the most never actually happen.

Power metals: mercury (of course!), zinc and copper are this week’s metals. Only copper is wearable. Mercury is fluid and sensitive. Zinc has strengthening properties (as an alloy). It also has health benefits (as an essential mineral in the human body).

Power fragrances: violet, rose, rosemary, valerian, lavender, lilac, and vervain. These will quiet your mind and calm your thoughts this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with parsley, dill, rosemary, lavender, mace, lemongrass and peppermint. Tea brewed from peppermint or valerian. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Three of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Three of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

5-25-21 through 6-01-21

Three of Disks

The Three of Disks is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card is also called the Three of Pentacles or Coins. It brings us into the realm of money, assets and resources – things of material value. This week’s card finds us shifting our focus to how we earn money through our work. We’re ready to get down to business. Rewards and recognition come from our abilities and contributions. There is an element of delayed gratification with this card. BUt better a little later than never, right? We identify and put in place the things that work best for us. This benefits us in our professional lives and all other aspects of our lives as well.

The Elements

The Three of Disks card creates the best combination of Fire and Earth. This is action with practical understanding and application. Think of the strength of bricks fired in a kiln. Or the controlled burn of forests and fields to renew nutrients and bring fertility.

The Number 3

The Threes of the Minor Arcana represent form and structure. They are the first results or manifestations. They show the effects of energy in action – in this case, for Disks and Earth. They bring a perspective, a viewpoint and an understanding of events and situations. Threes show the process of resolution and unification. This is a natural progression following the polarization and duality of the twos.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Three of Disks represents the formula 3. Sephiroth or sphere 3, Binah (Understanding). The sphere of Saturn, and Divine Feminine or Yin energy in the suit of Disks – Assiah, the material world. Combined with the element of Earth (physical bodies, real assets and resources). Plus Mars in Capricorn, equaling Works.

Astrology

The Three of Disks symbolizes Mars in Capricorn. It rules from 10 to 20 degrees Capricorn, or December 31st through January 9th. So, if your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Mars is physical energy. In the sign of Capricorn, controlled force directed toward a specific goal. Also, directed passion and effort, tenacity and endurance.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Gemini. Venus is also transiting Gemini.

We have a Full Moon Total Lunar eclipse coming up on May 26th in Fire-sign Sagittarius. This is the energy of expansion. We look beyond our routines and habits. Focus on what you want more of and act on it. However, avoid exaggeration and over-dramatizing.

“She works hard for the money, so hard for it, honey – She works hard for the money so you better treat her right…”

This eclipse is one of several along the Gemini-Sagittarius axis throughout this year. We’re inclined to be restless. This discontent can motivate us to make necessary changes. We seek to improve communications, transportation, and education. Yet, the upcoming Mercury retrograde creates delays and obstacles bringing these changes to fruition.

” It’s been a hard day’s night, and I’ve been working like a dog…”

Mars is transiting Water-sign Cancer through June 11th. Avoid passive-aggressive behavior. We’re tenacious now, and this can be a good complement to the energy of this week’s card. We are more protective of others. Still, we’ll need to watch out for hyper-sensitivity and emotional manipulation.

” Taking care of business (every day) – taking care of business (every way)…”

On May 29th Mercury retrogrades in its home sign of Gemini. The usual warnings apply. Be prepared for breakdowns and delays in transportation and communication.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card show us working hard instead of smart. The directionless expending of energy and effort without grounding in practical reality. Controlling or manipulative behavior.

Light

Let’s focus on creating and then following through on a viable plan of action. We’ll definitely reap the rewards that follow.

Alchemy

Power colors: scarlet red, azure blue and emerald green along with indigo, grey and black.

Power stones: ruby, garnet, bloodstone, onyx and jet. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to focus on productivity and positive growth.

Power metals: lead and iron. Not great for wearing, but good symbols of strength and endurance.

Power fragrances: wild rose, thistle, snowdrop, ginger, tobacco and pine. These will boost your energy and optimism.

Power foods: foods prepared with allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
