The Universe: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

11-24-20 through 12-01-20

 XXI - The Universe

The Universe is this week’s Tarotcast card. It’s named The World in many decks. The Universe tarot card is the last card of the Major Arcana. Expect success this week: completion, fulfillment & synthesis in key areas of your life.

In work matters the Universe can mean the completion of a long-term project. We may see the effects of global influence in our business dealings. In our personal and romantic lives, this card indicates expansion. Expect positive changes especially if things have been somewhat dull or stagnant. Attend to duties and responsibilities beyond the present situation. We will gain insight into the workings of karma in our lives. Our understanding of time – past, present and future – will grow. Our focus shifts toward a more cosmic, universal consciousness.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, The Universe card travels Path 32. It joins sephiroth or sphere 9, Yesod (Foundation) to sephiroth or sphere 10, Malkuth (Kingdom). Its Hebrew letter is Tau, meaning “cross,” the last letter of the Hebrew alphabet. The cross is an ancient symbol. It symbolizes the arrangement of the universe into four directions. It also encompasses the entire universe. Tau is the furthest development of the divine made manifest in the physical world. It represents infinity.

As the last card of the Major Arcana, the Universe represents the completion of the Great Work. The Fool’s journey begins as the zero moves from nothingness to manifestation. The entire Universe is that manifestation. Its purpose accomplished, it is ready to return to the divine All-Nothingness.

Astrology

The Universe card is the planetary trump of Saturn and the elemental trump of Earth. Contained in this card are the cycles of both Being and Time. This is the momentary pause after much activity. It is the feeling of rest after hard work, even when we know that there is still more work to do. We are in a state of wholeness and unity.

In real-time astrology, the Sun entered Fire-sign Sagittarius on November 21st. We’re adventurous, curious and honest. Like, no-filter honest – to a fault.

Saturn is making a long transit through Air-sign Aquarius. Saturn ruled Aquarius before the discovery of Uranus. Here, the Lord of Time will reap unfamiliar terrain. Wisdom comes from unexpected sources. Saturn is strong and secure in Aquarius. We discover truth from a new perspective. The Rule-Maker and The Rule-Breaker are tense but complementary.

When Neptune turns direct on November 28th confusion clears. It’s easier to apply creativity and imagination to real-world endeavors.

“Words are flowing out like endless rain into a paper cup

They slither while they pass, they slip away across the universe…”

On November 30th we have a Full Moon Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Air-sign Gemini. This prompts an urgency to communicate important messages. We also feel a strong need to get to the bottom of things. We’ll keep at it until we learn what we need to know.

Mercury enters Sagittarius on December 1st. We focus on justice and freedom. Optimism is high and we are both persuasive and open-minded in communication.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes superficiality. Appearances are deceptive and this focus is on them rather than substance. Also, laziness and depression.

Light

Let’s focus on positive solutions and the satisfaction of a job well-done. Completion and wholeness. Enjoy the sense of returning home.

Alchemy

Power colors: indigo, iridescent blue-black, navy blue for Saturn. Earthy colors of russet, olive, amber and golden-yellow.

Power stones: onyx, obsidian, jet, garnet, rock crystal, quartz, jasper and azurite. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. Take Saturn’s best qualities of responsibility and accountability. Combine them with the practical and nurturing qualities of Earth.

Power metals: iron and lead. Not great for wearing, but perfect symbols of strength and endurance.

Power fragrances: valerian, comfrey, musk, patchouli, cedar, honeysuckle and magnolia. These will keep you energized, centered and successful this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with thyme and sage. Also, any whole grains, nuts and seeds. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Lust: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Lust: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  11-17-20 through 11-24-20

XI -Lust

Lust is this week’s Tarotcast card. In most decks it is Strength. Understand that the reference here goes way beyond sexual lust. It is passion, the lust for life. The vigor and enthusiasm arises when something captures our imaginations. It also sparks our desire to take action. The Thoth Tarot deck swaps this card with Major Arcana card 8: Adjustment (Justice). It is number 11 of the Major Arcana in the Thoth tarot. Good and confused yet? Don’t be!

With trust in ourselves and confidence in our abilities, we’re in a position of power this week. Genuine passion burns for a cause near and dear to our hearts, to our work, to our creative endeavors. Power flows through us. We can be persuasive and charismatic when we speak our truth with heart and soul conviction.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card travels Path 19. It joins sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy) with sephiroth or sphere 5, Geburah (Severity). Crowley designed the Thoth tarot to correspond with his extensive study of Kabbalah. He changed the order and correspondences of some of the Major Arcana cards. Among his many reasons for doing so was that this card’s Hebrew letter, Teth – means “serpent”. He felt that the card’s energy corresponded to the Lion-Serpent, a symbol of the Kundalini. That is the powerful life-force energy cultivated through yogic practice.

Astrology

This card is the zodiacal trump of Leo. This further reinforces the Lion-Serpent imagery. In this sign, the Sun rules and Uranus is exalted.

In real-time astrology, the Sun completes its transit of Water-sign Scorpio. It enters Leo’s fellow Fire-sign, Sagittarius on November 21st. This energy opens our hearts. The focus is on spirituality and self-discovery. We aim high and we’re eager to explore all this world – and the next – have to offer. This is a good time to push past limitations and try new things. This is energy complements that of this week’s card.

On November 15th Mars stations direct in Fire-sign Aries (the sign it rules). We’re confident in our abilities again. We find it easier to assert ourselves and take action. Enthusiasm surges. Projects and plans move forward with ease.

“I’ll be your strength. Yes I will, yes I will.”

On the same day, we have a New Moon in Scorpio pushing us out of our comfort zone. Look for new ways to heal. There’s no more ignoring the elephant in the room. Be prepared to make necessary changes and face issues head-on. New beginnings feel right – especially when it comes to our intimate relationships. A new approach can be exactly what’s needed.

“Baby baby help me, you really must I need a healthy outlet For my teenage lust…”

Venus enters Scorpio on November 21st. Passions run deep and our lives take on an increased intensity. Avoid obsessive thoughts, coercion, jealousy and manipulation.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes aggression and bullying. Also, repressing our instincts. That may seem strange considering the card’s name and symbolism. It’s not so strange if we look at it from another perspective. Bullying, browbeating or steamrolling someone into submission might serve our great passion. That doesn’t mean it’s right.

Light

Let’s focus on channeling our urges into something positive. Take a moment to look at the source of those passionate feelings. Ask, “What serves my highest good and the highest good of all concerned?” We definitely don’t want to put out our internal fire. We do definitely want a controlled heat – let’s barbecue, not burn down the house!

Alchemy

Power colors: deep, rich, ruby red. Reddish-amber, deep purple and greenish-yellow.

Power stones: ruby, garnet, amber and diamond. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones to channel strength and love as well as passion this week.

Power metal: gold. Especially yellow or rose gold – wear either or both with pride and positivity.

Power fragrances: neroli, patchouli, marigold. Sunflower, cedar and frankincense. These will spark creative and physical passions.

Power foods: food or beverages prepared with hops (more beer!). Galangal (like ginger root), juniper (gin-and-tonics!) Orange, rosemary, cinnamon, cloves or sunflower seeds. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

The Empress: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

The Empress: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  11-10-20 through 11-17-20

The Empress

The Empress is this week’s Tarotcast card. We may experience strong urges to nurture and share this week. We find ourselves and others more open, receptive and compassionate. Enjoy your home, have a (virtual) party, serve comfort foods and indulge in rich desserts. Giving help and support especially to children and animals, meets with success.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life the Empress card travels Path 14. It joins sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom) to sephiroth or sphere 3, Binah (Understanding). Its Hebrew letter is Daleth (which means “door”). A woman’s body is the door through which we all pass when we enter this life.

Astrology

The Empress is the Planetary trump of Venus. She is woman in all her many forms. This card embodies all aspects of fertility in every sense of that word. Allow new ideas to take shape. Do some planting and gardening. Or, find seed money for investment or projects. You may even get news of pregnancy. The upcoming week brings these and other positive possibilities.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Water-sign Scorpio. Venus is currently transiting Air-sign Libra (one of the signs it rules). Venus is completely at home here and embodies many of the positive aspects of this week’s card.

Mercury enters Scorpio on November 10th. With Mercury direct, we’re regaining clarity. It’s easier to make decisions and process information.

Jupiter conjuncts Pluto (both in Earth-sign Capricorn) on November 12th. We get a turbo-charge from this transit. Because it can expand energy, we’ll do well to make sure the focus is positive and constructive. We may feel inspired to better ourselves and improve our circumstances. If we avoid greed and the lust for power this is a great time for achieving personal goals and dreams.

Another powerful aspect of this transit is the exploration of our deepest desires. If you find yourself feeling jealous or resentful, look deeper. You will discover things you may not know you wanted or haven’t admitted to yourself that you wanted.

Jupiter opens our minds to possibilities and moves us to pursue our passions.

On November 15th Mars stations direct in Fire-sign Aries (the sign it rules). We’re confident in our abilities again. We find it easier to assert ourselves and take action. Enthusiasm surges. Projects and plans move forward with ease.

“I dress as your daughter when the moon becomes round… You’ll be my mother when everything’s gone…”

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card: over-indulgence in sensual pleasures. Misuse or abuse of alcohol, drugs, sex and even food. Wallowing in self-indulgence to the point of egotism or narcissism. Vanity, laziness and envy of others.

Light

Let’s focus on the best energy of this card. Embrace the power of the feminine principle (no matter how we gender-identify). We can find comfort and strength inside our own skins, celebrate our bodies, and our Mother Earth.

Alchemy

Power colors: emerald green, sky blue, bright rose pink, and pale spring green.

Power stones: emeralds, opals, jade, sapphire and lapis lazuli. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to nurture others and take compassionate action. This provides a good balance to pampering ourselves.

Power metal: copper. Copper may have healing properties, this is a great week to see how it works for you.

Power fragrances: violet, wild rose, bergamot, hibiscus, magnolia, plumeria, rose, strawberry and vanilla. These enhance the balance of self-care and other-care. For a treat, take a candle-lit bath using pink candles and natural mineral salts. You’ll be channeling the positive energy of the Empress in a few relaxing minutes!

Power foods: foods prepared with apples, strawberries and vanilla. Teas brewed from rose hips or hibiscus. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Four of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Four of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  11-03-20 through 11-10-20

Four of Swords

The Four of Swords is this week’s Tarotcast card. Here is authority exercised with grace. Equilibrium with justice is the energy of this forecast period. Remember that Swords are weapons of war. Any truce or peace will result from a threat of discord; even conflict or violence. And any truce will be temporary.

The Elements

Jupiter’s masculine authority creates a dynamic and even martial armed enforcement of peace. In the Air sign of Libra, intellect and rational thinking are the path to conflict resolution.

The Number 4

The Fours of the Minor Arcana bring form and structure to their respective elements. Here is stability and nurturing for further development and manifestation. The Fours bring unification, domestication, reflection or gestation to events and situations.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, this card represents the formula 4. Sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy). The sphere of Jupiter, the rule of Law. In the suit of Swords (Yetzirah). The world of Form. The element of Air, representing the intellect and mental processes. Plus Jupiter in Libra equaling Truce.

Astrology

This card symbolizes Jupiter in Libra. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Libra, or October 13th to October 22nd. If your birthday falls on or between these dates you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Jupiter in Libra energy is great for socializing. It’s perfect for increasing one’s popularity or public reputation. There is a strong sense of justice and fair play as well as a desire to promote the general welfare and public good.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Water-sign Scorpio. On November 3rd Mercury stations direct in Libra. Time to wake up and get moving again. We’ll find it easier to communicate, travel make decisions and take action.

“And each time I feel like this inside there’s one thing I wanna know: What’s so funny ’bout peace love & understanding?”

On November 10th Mercury (direct) enters Scorpio. It is in square aspect to Saturn. Jupiter and Pluto in Earth-sign Capricorn are in square aspect to Mercury too. Communication is still tense. Ask good questions. Be patient but hold out for your answers. And don’t be too willing to take “no” for an answer.

This is a good time for serious conversation. On our own or in partnership, we can find real resolutions.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes isolation and retreat. Illness (physical, mental or emotional). Making too many concessions and over-compromising, trying for peace at any price.

Light

Let’s focus being tolerant. We can use a temporary break in the action to plan our next move. Seek the result that achieves the best and highest good for all concerned.

Alchemy

Power colors: violet, purple and blue for Jupiter. Deep green and blue for Libra.

Power stones: sapphire, amethyst, diamond, lapis and opal. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones for balance, fairness and justice in your dealings this week.

Power metals: copper and tin. The metals combine to create bronze. Bronze is harder and less brittle than either of these metals alone. It is both useful and beautiful. In olden times, people made weapons from bronze. You can make a tool or a statue. Choose either – choose well.

Power fragrances: violet, white rose, heliotrope, cedar and honeysuckle. Choose these to help keep you on an even keel this week – with stability, balance and fairness.

Power foods: clove, sage, poppy seeds, anise, cinnamon, mint, nutmeg or sage. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Nine of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Nine of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  10-27-20 through 11-03-20

Nine of Swords

The Nine of Swords is this week’s Tarotcast card. Not the happiest card in the deck, that’s for sure! Very few cards in the suit of Swords bring cheer when they show up in a reading. It’s hard to find the positive benefits here, but they do exist. We must be willing to look for them. That’s the only way to overcome the downright stupidity and meanness that this card embodies.

The Elements

Here is the element of Air (mental energy) whipped into aggression, conflict and anger. The result is despair, depression and self-torture. The relief for this “agony of mind” is the courage we can gain from a seriously necessary reality check.

The Number 9

The Nines of the Minor Arcana bring things to a conclusion. They represent integration, fulfillment and attainment. Unlike the nines of the other suits, the Nine of Swords card is most unpleasant. On a higher level, this card shows us that we can use fear to guide us on our path to maturity. Sometimes we must be cruel to be kind. Like surgery, removing disease causes pain and risk but is worth the result.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Nine of Swords card represents the formula 9. Sephiroth or sphere 9, Yesod (Foundation). The sphere of the Moon. In the suit of Swords (Yetzirah). The formative world. The element of Air – our mind, intellect, thoughts and mental processes. Plus, Mars in Gemini equaling Cruelty.

Astrology

The Nine of Swords corresponds to Mars in Gemini. It rules from 10 to 20 degrees Gemini, or June 1st to June 10th. If your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. The challenge here: all-action Mars in all-talk Gemini, in the realm of the mind. This is torture that doesn’t even provide sadistic pleasure to the torturer. Ugh.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Water-sign Scorpio. Mars is the traditional ruler of Scorpio. Mars continues its retrograde transit of Fire-sign Aries.

“I can be cruel…I don’t know, why? Don’t know, why?”

On October 27th Mercury retrograde backs into Air-sign Libra from Scorpio. This can slow decisions to a crawl, or less. We mentally waffle back and forth between alternatives. We can find pros and cons for them all. This period may affect our closest partnerships the most. We can use this energy to let go of the illusion of control. Fresh perspectives can liberate us. This is a powerful counter-influence to the energy of this week’s card.

On the same date, Venus enters Air-sign Libra – one of the two signs it rules. This can also mitigate a lot of the negative energy of this week’s card. Venus in Libra urges us to love with our whole hearts. It is cooperative and peace-loving energy. It is gentle and light-handed, a good contrast to this week’s card.

The second Full Moon of October falls on October 31st in Earth-sign Taurus. It will reconnect us to our sensuality. Our physical needs and desires, and the physical world in general take priority. Watch for stubborn attitudes. The Moon aligns with Uranus, bringing either excitement or anxiety. Unpredictability shakes up the status quo. Surprises are in store.

On November 3rd Mercury stations direct in Libra. Time to wake up and get moving again. We’ll find it easier to communicate, travel make decisions and take action.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes feelings of shame and guilt. Terror, misery and hate. These turned inward on ourselves or outward onto an unsuspecting (and undeserving) world.

Light

Let’s focus on using our consciences – and our consciousness – to remove the source of our “dis-ease.” We can set ourselves free from self-torment. Refrain from the torture or aggressive destruction of others.

Alchemy

Power colors: dark purple, scarlet red, azure blue and emerald for Mars and orange or mauve for Gemini. Don’t combine colors this week. We want to choose either the lightness of Gemini or the strength of Mars. We don’t want to reinforce them in combination.

Power stones: diamond, jade, agate and topaz for Gemini. Ruby, bloodstone and garnet for Mars. Wear these as jewelry or carry as power stones. They will help you to avoid cruelty, stupidity and mean-spiritedness.

Power metals: mercury and iron. Neither is great for wearing, but mercury reminds us to be adaptable and go with the flow. Iron is a good reminder of strength and endurance.

Power fragrances: hazel, wild rose, allspice, pine, and tobacco (the scent, you don’t need to smoke it!) to enhance your positive thought processes and mental clarity.

Power foods: foods prepared with parsley, dill, thistle (think artichokes!) allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
