The Hierophant: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

The Hierophant: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

6-30-20 through 7-07-20

The Hierophant

The Hierophant is this week’s Tarotcast card. The Hierophant was the Pope in the earliest tarot decks. He is now a high priest, vital and powerful, partnered with his Scarlet Woman. He represents a teacher, priest or religious leader. He can also be a representative of the law (including police officers and attorneys). The powers that be will be powerful indeed this week! We’ll contend with corporate, academic, religious or legal entities. Also any authority figures within our personal sphere.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life The Hierophant card travels path 16. It joins sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom), sphere of the Divine Masculine with sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy) Jupiter, the rule of law. Its Hebrew letter is Vau, meaning “nail.” We use nails to build and secure a structure. But we can also get “nailed” if we’re not careful and we’re doing things we ought not do.

Astrology

The Hierophant card is the zodiacal trump of Taurus, with Venus ruling and the Moon exalted.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Water-sign Cancer. Venus continues its retrograde of Cancer.

I feel the Earth move under my feet…

June 30th marks the second of three conjunctions between Jupiter and Pluto this year. Jupiter retrograde in Taurus’ fellow Earth-sign Capricorn conjuncts Pluto (also retrograde) in Capricorn.  This long-term transit occurred in April and happens again in November. This alignment is a turbocharger and power booster. It may expand positive things but can also exaggerate something negative.

We may focus our ambitions on bettering our circumstances. We will seek to improve ourselves. This stubborn determination can become rigid, dogmatic or judgmental. Avoid the temptation to misuse or abuse power. We can achieve much if our ambitions are well-managed.

On July 1st Saturn retrograde also enters Capricorn, the sign it rules. This transit may move us to commit to a love relationship. We want to feel love on a deep level. This is a time to reassess who we want as a partner and what want in our relationship.

The July 5th Full Moon Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn is opposite the Sun in Cancer. This can bring about endings – natural, needed endings. Both Capricorn and Cancer can have trouble letting go.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of The Hierophant card includes intolerance. Here is arrogance and a bad case of the know-it-alls. When structure and tradition go to extremes, they become a cage. We are in a prison, stifling freedom and thwarting change.

Light

Let’s focus on our connection to our higher selves. Trust that mundane events and situations are guiding us toward our true purpose. We discover and explore our connection to the divine. We don’t need a human mediator when using this card’s most potent energy.

Alchemy

Power colors: red, orange, deep indigo, rich brown and warm olive. Our daily prayers and meditations take on a more formal element of ritual this week. Wear clothing in these colors while praying or meditating to enhance your experience.

Power stones: amethyst, citrine and fire opals. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. You’ll feel connected to and a part of something greater than yourself. This would be a great week to walk a labyrinth!

Power metals: copper. Flexible yet strong. A superior conductor of heat and electricity.

Power fragrances: frankincense, rose, violet and hibiscus. Also coconut, jasmine, sandalwood, strawberry, vanilla or vervain. All will bring stability and a sense of larger purpose to your life this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with essence of rose or violet. Coconut, lotus root, apple, strawberry and vanilla. Also tea brewed from jasmine, hibiscus or rose hips. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Nine of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Nine of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  6-23-20 through 6-30-20

Nine of Cups

This week’s Tarotcast is the Nine of Cups Tarot card. This is one of the happiest, most positive and optimistic cards in the deck. It symbolizes happiness in all aspects of life especially our romantic relationships.

Is everybody happy? You bet! This is a week of satisfaction and contentment. Smile and celebrate. Enjoy the pleasures and comforts of the very best things life has to offer. This card is the big “YES!” Get ready to say yes to almost anything this week. Prepare yourself for the big “YES” – good things are coming your way.

The Elements

Jupiter is expansive and tolerant. Combined with the element of Water it manifests abundance and good fortune. It is spirituality expressed within the structure of organized religion. The union of knowledge and wisdom.

The Number 9

The Nines of the Minor Arcana bring things to a conclusion. They represent integration, fulfillment and attainment. With Cups and the energy of Water, we enjoy romantic, social and sensual pleasures. Satisfaction and contentment reign.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Nine of Cups card represents the formula 9. Sephiroth or sphere 9, Yesod (Foundation). The sphere of the Moon where energy crystallizes in the suit of Cups – Briah, the Creative world. Combined with the element of Water (our heart and emotions). Plus Jupiter in Pisces, equaling Happiness.

Astrology

The Nine of Cups represents Jupiter in Pisces. It rules from 10 to 20 degrees Pisces, or March 1st through March 10th. If your birthday falls on or between those dates you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Jupiter’s energy is “bigger, better, more.” The gift of the good life is right at home in the mutable water sign of the Fish, where things are comfortable and cozy.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Pisces’ fellow-Water sign, Cancer. Cancer’s love of comfort, family and food is a nice match to the energy of this week’s card. Venus turns direct on June 25th in Air-sign Gemini. This transit helps bring some of this month’s confusion to an end.

On June 23rd Neptune retrogrades in the sign of Pisces. This energy is ideal for inner reflection and personal, spiritual growth. It joins Jupiter retrograde in Earth-sign Capricorn. On June 30th, Jupiter conjuncts Pluto, also retrograde in Capricorn. Mercury continues its retrograde in Cancer. This is the perfect time to enjoy the things that nurture us. Feed your spirit. Reflect on the ways your emotions affect your decisions and actions. All that is compassionate, intimate, intuitive and sympathetic will resonate with you now. It’s fine to take a stroll down memory lane – don’t let yourself get lost in the past.

For the rest of this month it’s best if we can enjoy what we have and focus on the positives in our lives. Take time to observe, reflect and meditate. This is not the best time for action or major decisions. This is the result of all the retrogrades and the Solar eclipse of June 21st. Mars’ transit of Pisces through June 27th makes this a better time for thought than action.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Nine of Cups card includes conceit and vanity. Avoid being gullible. Check your “Too Good to Be True” Meter, because if something IS too good to be true you’ll want to take a pass.

Light

Let’s focus on sharing our good fortune and positive news with others and allowing them to share theirs with us! Stay receptive and be ready to say “YES” – accept affirmatives into your life this week.

Alchemy

Power colors: sea-green, blue, purple, violet and white.

Power stones: amethyst, aquamarine, sapphire, emerald or topaz. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to manifest what makes you happy and serves your highest good.

Power metal: tin. Not great for wearing – but a strong alloy (and ally) for strength and flexibility.

Power fragrances: musk, lavender, jasmine, heliotrope, carnation, poppy, cedar, honeysuckle and hyssop. These will inspire love, happiness and optimism. They awaken Pisces gentle, loving nature and radiate Jupiter’s noble power.

Bonus: Music

There couldn’t be a better time to listen to music that makes you want to dance and sing. Or – if you’re feeling too shy for those – lifts your spirits high! How about Pharrell Williams’ “Happy?” or “Don’t Worry, Be Happy?” The word “happy” doesn’t even have to be in the title. One of my all-time favorites (the happiest flippin’ song in the world) is “Jackie Wilson Said” by Van Morrison. Whatever works for you.

Power foods: foods prepared with clove, sage, anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and mint. Especially in liquids (soups, teas) and in all types of desserts and sweets. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Four of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Four of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  6-16-20 through 6-23-20

Four of CupsThe Four of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card. The Four of Cups Tarot is protective and nurturing. These are qualities associated with the maternal instinct. Caring, affection and emotional stability will be recurring themes during this week.

We will likely be looking for ways to express unconditional love. This can contribute to a period of relative ease and feelings of security. Yet, this energy borders on being too much of a good thing. “Mothering” turns into smothering when we attempt to bind, restrict or limit others in the name of “love”.

The Elements

The fluid element of Water does not contain itself or conform to structure. Unstable liquid needs something outside itself to impose order.

The Number 4

The Fours of the Minor Arcana bring form and structure to their respective elements. Here is stability and nurturing for further development and manifestation. The Fours bring unification, domestication, reflection, or gestation to events and situations.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Four of Cups card represents the formula 4. Sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy), the sphere of Jupiter and the rule of law. In the suit of Cups (Briah, the Creative world); the element of Water – our heart and emotions. Plus the Moon in Cancer, equaling “Luxury.”

Astrology

The Four of Cups card corresponds to the Moon in Cancer. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Cancer, or July 12th through July 21st. If your birthday falls on or between these dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. The Moon rules the sign of Cancer and is very much at home in this most home-y of the signs. Comfort, coziness and nesting instincts will be very much in evidence this week.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Gemini. On June 20th the Sun will enter Water-sign Cancer. As a cardinal Water sign, Cancer needs to take emotional action. Support, nurturing and encouragement are second-nature. The goal here is to balance that by respecting personal boundaries. Love that confines and restricts kills the object of affection.

Mercury turned retrograde in Cancer on June 18th.

The New Moon Annular Solar Eclipse in Cancer on June 21st brings us a fresh start. It occurs near the Summer Solstice (northern hemisphere). The energy of new beginnings is exciting and full of possibilities. Pay attention to your needs, follow your instincts. Family and close friends are important in our lives now. Feelings of safety, security and stability are front and center. This energy calls us to give up or end something to make way for something new.

On June 23rd Neptune retrogrades in Water-sign Pisces (its home sign). A veil or fog falls over practical matters. We can best use this energy to align our wishes, hopes and dreams with our deepest feelings. We are open and receptive, yet indecisive. This energy is ideal for inner reflection and personal, spiritual growth.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Four of Cups card includes possessiveness. Attempts to control and manipulate through the emotions. It reminds us how easy it is to go from comfort to crushing boredom. Sliding from cozy familiarity into contempt, the winds of rebellion can blow hard.

Light

Let’s focus on the sense of emotional grounding through loving energy. Enjoy restful domesticity this week, knowing it is a temporary state. Use this energy to recharge your batteries before going back out into the world. You can’t stay here forever.

Alchemy

Power colors: blue, pearl white and silver for the Moon as well as amber, maroon and bright russet for Cancer.

Power stones: emerald, cat’s eye, pearl, opal, rock crystal and moonstone. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones. They will help you balance the need for cocooning with the need for outside stimuli.

Power metal: silver. Wear it to feel stable, caring and affectionate.

Power fragrances: poppy, white rose, water lily, coconut and gardenia. Jasmine, lotus, myrrh and sandalwood. These will enhance healthy maternal instincts. Your nurturing, supportive nature also knows when to let go.

Power foods: foods prepared with watercress, poppy seeds, coconut, and wintergreen. Tea brewed from jasmine or wintergreen (mint). All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Ten of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Ten of Disks: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

6-09-20 through 6-16-20

Ten of Disks

The Ten of Disks is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card is also called the Ten of Coins and the Ten of Pentacles. This week’s energy focuses on financial prosperity. It is building on a firm foundation for our personal and family life. We find ways to grow our assets and resources. We also find creative ways to put money to good use through wise investing or smart budgeting.

The Elements

Mercury’s creative force applied to the material and physical resources of Earth. Dynamic wealth in action.

The Number 10

The Tens of the Minor Arcana represent completion. They are the manifestation and culmination of the energy of their suits and elements.

The Ten of Disks is special. It is the very last Tarot card: the point at which spirit manifests completely as matter. This is the point which signals the reintegration of matter into spirit. It is a complete picture of the cycle of regeneration. Unlike any of the other small cards including the Tens of the other suits, the Ten of Disks has a unique mission. From the very bottom of the cosmos, it must link to the inmost secret of creation. It then reincarnates at the very top of the Tarot cycle. Its job is nothing less than to regenerate the world.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Ten of Disks represents the formula 10. Sephiroth or sphere 10, Malkuth (Kingdom), the material world. In the suit of Disks, the element of Earth. Assiah – our physical bodies. Also material assets or resources. Plus Mercury in Virgo equaling Wealth.

Astrology

The Ten of Disks card corresponds to Mercury in Virgo. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Virgo, or September 12th through September 22nd. If your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Mercury co-rules both Gemini and Virgo.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Gemini. Many people forget that Mercury rules the sign of Virgo (as well as Gemini). Mercury’s creativity and cleverness serve practical and productive purposes in Virgo. Our intelligence and willingness to work smarter rather than harder nets big rewards.

Mercury will retrograde in Water-sign Cancer on June 18th. We are already in the shadow phase of this retrograde. It will join Jupiter’s continued retrograde transit of Virgo’s fellow Earth-sign Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of ambition and perseverance. This retrograde energy slows down professional projects. Plans are on hold. Use this energy to get a fresh perspective. Review and revise, if necessary. We may lose some enthusiasm or self-confidence. Watch resources and assets. Research opportunities rather than act.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes greed for money. Hoarding material possessions. Lack of understanding of the connection between the physical and the spiritual worlds.

Light

Let’s focus on discovering the value of everyday things. The understanding that wealth is more than how much money we have in our wallets or our bank accounts.

Alchemy

Power colors: yellow, purple, grey and indigo for Mercury as well as green and plum for Virgo.

Power stones: carnelian, jade and jasper. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones to help you feel comfortable, secure and generous.

Power metals: platinum (how’s that for feeling rich?) and of course Mercury which we can’t wear or handle. Wear platinum if you’re lucky enough to own it.

Power fragrances: valerian, lavender, lily of the valley and lilac. These bring a sense of abundant well-being into your environment.

Power foods: foods prepared with rosemary, parsley, dill, peppermint and lemongrass. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Fortune: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Fortune: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

6-02-20 through 6-09-20

Fortune(The Wheel of Fortune Tarot card)

This week’s Tarotcast card is Fortune. Many Tarot decks name this card the Wheel of Fortune. We’ll be experiencing a lot of changes this week. The traditional interpretation of this card is good luck. That’s only a part of the story. This is the card of our luck – or fortunes – changing. That can mean if our fortunes have been bad, they’re likely to change for the better. But if they’ve been good, the wheel is turning, so it’s a good idea to watch out for obstacles or pitfalls. This card also represents the risk-taker; one who is willing to gamble on an opportunity. Though uncertain of the results, he or she is able to turn a lucky break to his or her own advantage.

Ch-ch-ch-ch-changes

The Fortune card symbolizes the only constant in our lives: change. No matter the current situation, remember that it is not forever. The Wheel turns. Cycles change and progress. All that is now will give way to new experiences, circumstances and connections.

Karmic Wheel

The Fortune card also represents the Wheel of Karma. There is a feeling that events coming to pass are beyond our control. Understand that whatever is occurring is a result of our deeds and thoughts. The law of Karma operates on a different level than that of blind luck.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life Fortune travels path 21. It joins sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy) to sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory). Its Hebrew letter is Kaph, meaning the palm of the hand. This is a fitting image for the fortune we’re born with (written in the lines of our palms). It is also the fortune we make through the things we do and the actions we take – what we create through our own efforts.

Astrology

Fortune is the planetary trump of Jupiter, the largest planet in our solar system. This is the planet of expansion – bigger, better, more.

In real time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Gemini. Jupiter is currently retrograde in Earth-sign Capricorn. Capricorn is the sign of ambition and perseverance. This retrograde energy slows down professional projects. Plans are on hold. Use this energy to get a fresh perspective. Review and revise, if necessary. We may lose some enthusiasm or self-confidence. We won’t know if our luck is in or out until later. Be assured that the Wheel will turn.

Jupiter’s quintile aspect with Chiron was exact on June 1st. Quintiles reveal our innate talents and gifts. These are raw energies – challenging unless controlled and directed into proper channels. This quintile broadens our understanding of others’ difficulties. We’re willing to learn and grow.

On June 5th we have a Full Moon Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in Fire-sign Sagittarius. Sagittarius is ruled by Jupiter. Watch for anger and impulsiveness since the Moon is square Mars. The Moon opposite Venus retrograde means a tough go for romantic relationships too. Strong relationships will weather the storm. Shaky ones will break under the strain. Avoid disrupted influences and disengage from potential violence.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes feelings of fatalism. Seeing oneself as a victim of fate. Disempowerment and a perceived lack of control over our own course in life.

Light

Let’s focus on the positives. Here is the promise that we’ll be able to roll with life’s inevitable changes. We can gain greater awareness when we transcend polarity (good/bad, up/down, light/dark, etc.)

Alchemy

Power colors: violet, bright blue, purple and yellow.

Power stones: sapphire, amethyst or diamond. Wear these as jewelry or carry as power stones. They will keep you feeling optimistic and help you take educated and informed “risks.”

Power metal: tin. Not great for wearing, but often used to improve the strength and flexibility of other metals. So, it’s a good reminder of the powers of adaptation and transformation.

Power fragrances: poppy and honeysuckle. These scents inspire you to use Jupiter’s expansive energy to your benefit. You’ll recognize opportunities and take some intelligent risks.

Power foods: use mint, clove, cinnamon, nutmeg and sage. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
