The Moon: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

The Moon: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

2-23-21 through 3-02-21

The Moon

The Moon is this week’s Tarotcast card. Lots of people find this card spooky. It can be, since it invites and draws us deep into the world of the unconscious, sleep, and dreams – or nightmares.

This week challenges us to overcome fear, the “dark night of the soul” that The Moon card represents. Be willing to make your journey with courage. You can use the symbols and images of your dream-state to master the waking world. Emotion and intuition run strong this week. Things are not what they appear to be. But then again, the challenge – both practical and spiritual – is to acknowledge our fear and move forward. Repression or denial creates a nightmare landscape. Acknowledgement and acceptance bring the mysterious and unknown to light.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, The Moon card travels path 29. It joins sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory); sphere of Venus, the masculinized Yin. with sephiroth or sphere 10, Malkuth (Kingdom). Malkuth represents our material, physical world. The Moon card’s Hebrew letter is Qoph, which means the back of the head. In our physical brain anatomy, the back of the head is the location of the occipital lobes. They are responsible for our visual perception systems. Disorders or diseases affecting the occipital lobe can cause visual hallucinations and illusions. This is in keeping with the nature of the Moon and its elusive – and sometimes deceptive – energy.

Astrology

The Moon card is the zodiacal trump of Pisces: ruled by Jupiter and Neptune; sign of Venus exalted.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Water-sign Pisces. Neptune continues its transit of Pisces.

On February 25th Venus enters Pisces. Pisces sees the world in shades of grey along with all the colors of th rainbow. Rarely, in black and white. The energy of Venus in Pisces is love that forgives, understands and comforts. We are seductive and open to seduction. There’s no lack of tender affection. But there is also a yearning for something unnamed and undefined. It’s vague and difficult to gratify.

“If you believed they put a man on the moon (man on the moon), if you believed there’s nothing up his sleeve, then nothing is cool…”

Venus in Pisces can increase the dangers of the darker side of The Moon card. Boundaries are blurry. Avoid victim behavior or victim consciousness. Don’t fall into the trap of self-delusion or allow others to pull the wool over your eyes.

“All that is now, and all that is gone, and all that’s to come – and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon…”

Jupiter (in Aquarius) trines the True Node (in Gemini) on February 26th. The emphasis is on growth, learning and improvement. This conjunction cah help us move past our fears. This energy is a welcome boost to the positive aspects of this week’s card.

Jupiter moves us to trust our highest vision. This trine to the North Node enhances our intuition. We may seek group causes and endeavors. We’re motivated to help others as well as ourselves.

Our ability to communicate – both to verbalize and to listen – improves during this transit. We teach and learn.

“Giant steps are what you take walking on the moon. I hope my legs don’t break walking on the moon…”

The Full Moon in Earth-sign Virgo on February 27th brings awareness and focus. Things requiring organization and order get our full attention. Areas that we’ve neglected and tasks we’ve put off get resolved in record time.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes succumbing to fear. Hysteria. Paranoia. Indulging in drugs or alcohol to escape reality. Any or all these can only worsen matters and trap us in a hall of mirrors.

Light

Let’s focus on trusting to our intuitive knowledge. Deep understanding brings great rewards this week. Connect your dreaming and dreamlike intuition to your waking consciousness. In this way, we can turn dreams – rather than nightmares – into reality.

Alchemy

Power colors: crimson, silver, black and silver-flecked white. Violet and pale blue-green.

Power stones: emeralds, amethyst, aquamarine and sapphire. Wear these as jewelry or carry as power stones for courage and much-need illumination.

Power metal: tin. Not great for wearing, but a good reminder in this way. Treatment with a coating of tin prevents other metals from corrosion. We can use our waking consciousness to protect the powerful energy of our intuition.

Power fragrances: heliotrope, carnation, opium and belladonna. These will help us stay tuned into and focused on the light in the darkness.

Power foods: foods prepared with members of the nightshade family – tomatoes and peppers. Also, foods made with poppy seeds, lotus root and coconut. Tea brewed from jasmine or wintergreen. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Eight of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Eight of Swords: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

2-16-21 through 2-23-21

Eight of Swords

The Eight of Swords is this week’s Tarotcast card. The suit of Swords can be challenging since it represents disruption and conflict. On the positive side, it also represents analysis, intellect and ideas. The Eight of Swords helps us understand that we can change our thoughts – and that can change our lives! I love the Wayne Dyer quote, “If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” This is the positive side of the Eight of Swords.

The Elements

Expansive optimism meets mutable Air and turbulence of mind results. Indecision from conflicting thought processes delays necessary action.

The Number 8

The Eights of the Minor Arcana organize, reason and communicate. Their energy may lack harmony, but they can restore symmetry and balance. The eights bring justice, karmic balancing or rebalancing, order and structure. They establish limitations and boundaries.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card represents the formula 8. Sephiroth or sphere 8, Hod (Splendor). The sphere of Mercury and the feminized Yang. In the suit of Swords (Yetzirah, the formative world). The element of Air – our intellect, thoughts and mental activity). Plus Jupiter in Gemini equaling “Interference.”

Astrology

The Eight of Swords symbolizes Jupiter in Gemini. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Gemini or May 21st through May 31st. So if your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. The message of this card is that things are not as bad as they look. But it also cautions against being good-natured at the wrong times. Going along with the program brings disastrous results in some situations.

Temporary obstacles

Hod is the sphere of Mercury – its home sphere, you might say – and Mercury rules Gemini. Add Jupiter to the mix and we get an element of luck, especially in intellectual pursuits. Yet, as with all the Eights, the influence of Hod causes this card to suffer from imbalance. Hod tends to be the “wet blanket” on all prevailing energies. Even with good luck and a good outlook, we can still experience setbacks and delays. There’s the proverbial “fly in the ointment.” Since fighting is what Swords are all about, we’re not much good when the “fight” gets knocked out of us. And we’re in bad trouble when a situation calls for us to fight and we don’t or won’t. But – it’s temporary.

In real-time astrology, the Sun completes its transit of Air-sign Aquarius. It enters Water-sign Pisces on February 18th. This is good energy for healing and regaining our strength. But, combined with the energy of this week’s card, we may avoid conflict at the moment we most need to stand our ground.

“I don’t have the right to interfere, to interfere…”

We’re intuitive and inclined to follow our instincts. Yet escapist tendencies can lead to undesirable outcomes.

On February 17th, Saturn (in Aquarius) squares Uranus (in Taurus).

This generates some friction. Our need for freedom clashes with our need for stability and structure. If we can find a way to balance these opposing needs, we win. Keep a cool and rational head.

“Were you born to resist, or be abused? I swear I’ll never give in. I refuse… Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?”

Still, we’ll find restrictions and rules hard to accept. We want to assert our individuality but not at the expense of our security. Conformity feels like a limitation. Be prepared to adapt to setbacks. They may be blessings in disguise and lead to better solutions. And prepare for people and circumstances to be less reliable now.

Mercury turns direct in Aquarius on February 20th and all major planets will be direct once again. Go forward with renewed dreams, ideas and hopes. And be prepared to fight for and defend them.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes confusion. Fuzzy thinking, fear of the unknown and crippling uncertainty. Thinking a situation is impossible becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Light

Let’s focus on the ability to look at the ways we hold ourselves back. Taking the longer view can help us gain a fresh perspective on any situation or relationship. It will free us up and move us forward.

Alchemy

Power colors: violet, blue, purple, and yellow as well as silver and pale gray.

Power stones: diamond, jade, agate, topaz, sapphire and amethyst. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones to counteract feelings of “stuck-ness”. Rid yourself of restlessness and absent-mindedness.

Power metals: mercury and tin. Neither is wearable. But their properties remind us that a positive boost to our mental energy will help us make good choices. We avoid getting bogged down in self-criticism.

Power fragrances: fern, iris, carnation, heliotrope, cedar and honeysuckle. These will help us stay clear-minded and look for fresh viewpoints this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with parsley, dill, clove, sage, anise, cinnamon and nutmeg. Tea brewed from mint. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Nine of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Nine of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

2-09-21 through 2-16-21

9 of Cups

Happy Valentine’s Day!

The Nine of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card. This is one of the happiest, most positive and optimistic cards in the deck. It symbolizes happiness in all aspects of life, particularly our romantic relationships.

Is everybody happy? You bet! Because this is a week of joy, satisfaction, pleasure and contentment – smile and celebrate. Enjoy the pleasures and comforts of the very best things life has to offer. This card is the big “YES!” Get ready to say yes to almost anything this week. Prepare yourself for the big “YES” – good things are coming your way.

The Elements

Jupiter is expansive and tolerant. Combined with the element of Water it manifests as plenty and good fortune. It is spirituality expressed within the structure of formal religious rituals. The union of knowledge and wisdom.

The Number 9

The Nines of the Minor Arcana bring things to a conclusion. They represent integration, fulfillment and attainment. With Cups and the energy of Water, we enjoy romantic, social and sensual pleasures. Satisfaction and contentment reign.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Nine of Cups card represents the formula 9. Sephiroth or sphere 9, Yesod (Foundation). The sphere of the Moon where energy crystallizes in the suit of Cups – Briah, the Creative world. Combined with the element of Water (our heart and emotions). Plus Jupiter in Pisces, equaling Happiness.

Astrology

The Nine of Cups represents Jupiter in Pisces. It rules from 10 to 20 degrees Pisces, or March 1st through March 10th. So if your birthday falls on or between those dates you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Jupiter’s energy is “bigger, better, more.” The gift of the good life is right at home in the mutable water sign of the Fish, where things are comfortable and cozy.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Air-sign Aquarius. This is Pisces’ next-door neighbor on the astrological wheel. Aquarius energy finds happiness through humanitarian causes. But the individualist Water-Bearer still seeks and values partnership.

“Clap along if you feel like happiness is the truth (Because I’m happy) Clap along if you know what happiness is to you…”

https://youtu.be/ZbZSe6N_BXs

Saturn is sextile Chiron on February 9th. But this is a longer-term influence. This energy softens some of the harsher Saturn aspects. It helps us explore our unique path without conflict or controversy. We’re able to go forward with respect for others. We are confident in ourselves without bragging or arrogance. Explore your unique path to happiness.

“Happiness runs in a circular motion, thought is like a little boat upon the sea. Everybody is a part of everything anyway, You can have everything if you let yourself be…”

https://youtu.be/JAu4mM01tJc

The New Moon in Aquarius on February 11th is our cue to make a fresh start. A clean break may also be necessary to awaken our vision for the future. We’re ready for new ideas.

“I need a love to keep me happy… I need a love, baby, won’t ya keep me happy…”

https://youtu.be/VSyNUAzPofI

There are many planets in Aquarius right now. The Sun, Moon Mercury, Venus, Jupiter, and Saturn. These conflict with Uranus and Mars in Taurus. Clashes can arise. It may be difficult to put ourselves in another’s shoes. Examine new ideas and research new trends, but don’t forget the continuing Mercury retrograde.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Nine of Cups card includes conceit and vanity. Avoid being gullible. And check your “Too Good to Be True” Meter, because if something IS too good to be true you’ll want to take a pass.

Light

Let’s focus on sharing our good fortune and positive news with others and allowing them to share theirs with us! Stay receptive and be ready to say “YES” – accept affirmatives into your life this week.

Alchemy

Power colors: sea-green, blue, purple, violet and white.

Power stones: amethyst, aquamarine, sapphire, emerald or topaz. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to manifest what makes you happy and serves your highest good.

Power metal: tin. Not great for wearing – but a strong alloy (and ally) for strength and flexibility.

Power fragrances: musk, lavender, jasmine, heliotrope, carnation, poppy, cedar, honeysuckle and hyssop. These will inspire love, happiness and optimism. They awaken Pisces gentle, loving nature and radiate Jupiter’s noble power.

Power foods: foods prepared with clove, sage, anise, cinnamon, nutmeg and mint. Especially in liquids (soups, teas) and in all types of desserts and sweets. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Two of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

Two of Cups: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

 2-02-21 through 2-09-21

Two of Cups

The Two of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card symbolizes romantic love, marriage and partnerships. It is a more accurate depiction of these than the Major Arcana card, the Lovers. The Two of Cups can represent a friendship developing into a romantic relationship. It can mean an engagement or marriage. It also includes the pleasure of platonic love. Enjoying the company of our good friends and family.

The Elements

The Goddess of Love in the house of the Moon elevates Water to its most transcendent level of energy. Receptivity and reflection create unconditional love.

The Number 2

The Twos of the Minor Arcana show balanced but polarized states. The twos are duality. This is our way of seeing and being in the world to understand it. Here we weigh and balance things against their opposites. Good vs. bad, dark vs. light, positive vs. negative. Until we differentiate, we can’t resolve and unify.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, the Two of Cups represents the formula 2. Sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom). The sphere of the Zodiac, the Divine Masculine or Yang energy. In the suit of Cups; Briah, the creative world; the element of Water. Our feelings and emotions. Plus, Venus in Cancer equaling Love.

Astrology

The Two of Cups symbolizes Venus in Cancer. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Cancer, or June 21st to July 1st. If your birthday falls on or between these dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. This card depicts the element of water in its best and highest form. Harmony between male and female energies (Yin and Yang), joy and pleasure. Use this gentle, positive energy to open your heart and connect with the people you love.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Aquarius. This energy will put the focus of our love and affection on friendships. Humanitarian concerns take center stage. Even our romantic partnerships harmonize around cooperation rather than passion or desire.

“All you need is love. All you need is love. All you need is love, love. Love is all you need.”

The Beatles – All You Need is Love

Mercury continues retrograde in Aquarius. This is an excellent time to communicate with care. Listen and think before you speak. Allow for the mistakes that others may make. Seek clarity rather than perfection.

“Wear your love like heaven…”

Donovan – Wear Your Love Like Heaven

On February 2nd Venus joins the Sun in Aquarius. As already mentioned, our friendships and partnerships blossom with this loving energy. The flame of passion may not burn as hot. But there’s abundant warmth to share.

“Sometimes I feel like saying, ‘Lord, I just don’t care.’ But you’ve got the love I need to see me through…”

Florence + The Machine – You’ve Got the Love

February 4th the Moon’s last quarter in Cancer’s fellow-Water sign, Scorpio. Feelings run deep and intensify beneath the surface.

“And can you feel the love tonight? It is where we are…”

Elton John – Can You Feel the Love Tonight

Saturn is sextile Chiron on February 9th. This is a longer-term influence. This energy softens some of the harsher Saturn aspects. It helps us explore our unique path without conflict or controversy. We’re able to go forward with respect for others. We are confident in ourselves without bragging or arrogance.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Two of Cups includes disillusionment. Separation. Loving energy disrupted or resisted through fear or rejection.

Light

Let’s focus on enjoying the positive aspects by spending time with people we like. Let attractions blossom with people we want to get to know and like even better. It’s a great week to flirt, begin dating, or even fall in love! We can develop an existing relationship and see it move forward in a positive direction.

Alchemy

Power colors: pearl gray, emerald green, sky blue and pale pink for Venus. Amber, maroon and russet for Cancer.

Power stones: emerald, opal, jade, sapphire and lapis lazuli. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones to awaken feelings of love and attraction.

Power metals: silver (for Cancer) and copper (for Venus). I’d opt for the silver of course, but choose whichever makes you happiest, alternate or even combine them.

Power fragrances: poppy, white rose, violet, wild rose, bergamot, geranium, hibiscus, and plumeria. Use these to create a sensuous, relaxed mood. These scents will help you deepen an existing relationship or to attract new love into your life. Use them to help you draw in what (and who) will bring you true happiness.

Power foods: this week’s fruits and vegetables will make tasty meals for those we love. Cancer rules the stomach, Venus the heart – so the way to our loved one’s heart is through their stomach! Prepare foods with apples, watercress, strawberries, poppy seeds and vanilla. Brew teas from hibiscus, rose hips and bergamot. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

The Star: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

The Star: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading

  1-26-21 through 2-02-21

The Star

The Star is this week’s Tarotcast card. It inspires us to reach for our highest potential. We’re guaranteed to reach our goals and aspirations guided by the Star’s steady light. This card represents healing of all kinds – physical, emotional and spiritual. The embodiment of hope and promise. So, this card affirms the eternal renewal available to all living beings.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life The Star card travels Path 15. Sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom). Divine Masculine/Yang energy joined with sephiroth or sphere 6, Tiphareth (Beauty). Sphere of the Sun – energy in completely balanced manifestation. The Hebrew letter of this card – He’ – means “a window.” No matter what doors may have closed for us, a new door – or a window – is opening this week. Either opening can bring in fresh air and new possibilities. Use whichever presents itself to experience the feeling of rebirth and renewal. Because this is the card of hope,  we see the promise of things yet unseen and still-to-come.

Astrology

The Star is the zodiacal trump of Aquarius, in which Saturn rules with Neptune exalted. This attribution comes from ancient astrology. The more modern attribution is Uranus ruling Aquarius. Also, Aquarius, the water-bearer is an Air sign – often mistaken for one of the water signs.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Air-sign Aquarius. This is the perfect match to this week’s card – and how I love it when this happens!

“Every man and every woman is a star.”

On January 28th we have a Full Moon in Fire-sign Leo – Aquarius’ polar opposite. This occurs near a Sun-Jupiter conjunction. It stokes our optimism, but can be impulsive and careless. This Full Moon can stimulate our desire to express ourselves. We’re aware of our needs for creativity and romance. This energy exposes or sheds light on important issues. If we’ve neglected ourselves or ignored our needs, now is the time to get back in balance.

“Everybody is a star…”

Mercury retrogrades in Aquarius on January 30th. We turn toward humanitarian concerns. Our ideals motivate us to aim high. We’re filled with inventive and innovative ideas. But all the usual Mercury retrograde cautions apply.

“We are stardust, we are golden, we are billion-year-old carbon…”

On February 1st Venus enters Aquarius. The highlight is on social relationships. We yearn for freedom and independence. We seek harmony between our needs for individuality and connection to others. In romantic relationships we look for friendship in our love partner. Unselfishness, fairness and self-actualization are important now.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of the Star includes falling into illusions. Denial of facts or escape from reality. We’re encouraged to hope. Yet, we’re also cautioned to avoid going overboard into pigs-fly-to-the-moon territory.

Light

Let’s focus on the fresh promises manifesting in all areas of our lives.

Alchemy

Power colors: violet, sky blue, mauve, white and pale purple.

Power stones: Zircon, amber, malachite, aquamarine, rose quartz, sapphire or lapis. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to recognize the order of the Universe. The rightness of things as they are in this present moment. The opportunities and rewards that we’ll realize in the future.

Power metal: uranium. Not wearable, but valuable. A reminder of how we can harness tremendous power. Power used for either positive or destructive ends. Choose well.

Power fragrances: jasmine, rose and almond. These make it easy to go with the flow. Aquarius is the Water-Bearer. Take a luxurious bath or make a trip to the spa (invite a friend) for a special treat this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with almonds. Rose hips or jasmine teas. Make sure to drink plenty of pure, fresh water and breathe fresh outdoor air. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
