The Moon: Weekly Tarotcast™ – Free Tarot Reading
2-23-21 through 3-02-21
The Moon is this week’s Tarotcast card. Lots of people find this card spooky. It can be, since it invites and draws us deep into the world of the unconscious, sleep, and dreams – or nightmares.
This week challenges us to overcome fear, the “dark night of the soul” that The Moon card represents. Be willing to make your journey with courage. You can use the symbols and images of your dream-state to master the waking world. Emotion and intuition run strong this week. Things are not what they appear to be. But then again, the challenge – both practical and spiritual – is to acknowledge our fear and move forward. Repression or denial creates a nightmare landscape. Acknowledgement and acceptance bring the mysterious and unknown to light.
On the Tree of Life, The Moon card travels path 29. It joins sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory); sphere of Venus, the masculinized Yin. with sephiroth or sphere 10, Malkuth (Kingdom). Malkuth represents our material, physical world. The Moon card’s Hebrew letter is Qoph, which means the back of the head. In our physical brain anatomy, the back of the head is the location of the occipital lobes. They are responsible for our visual perception systems. Disorders or diseases affecting the occipital lobe can cause visual hallucinations and illusions. This is in keeping with the nature of the Moon and its elusive – and sometimes deceptive – energy.
The Moon card is the zodiacal trump of Pisces: ruled by Jupiter and Neptune; sign of Venus exalted.
In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Water-sign Pisces. Neptune continues its transit of Pisces.
On February 25th Venus enters Pisces. Pisces sees the world in shades of grey along with all the colors of th rainbow. Rarely, in black and white. The energy of Venus in Pisces is love that forgives, understands and comforts. We are seductive and open to seduction. There’s no lack of tender affection. But there is also a yearning for something unnamed and undefined. It’s vague and difficult to gratify.
“If you believed they put a man on the moon (man on the moon), if you believed there’s nothing up his sleeve, then nothing is cool…”
Venus in Pisces can increase the dangers of the darker side of The Moon card. Boundaries are blurry. Avoid victim behavior or victim consciousness. Don’t fall into the trap of self-delusion or allow others to pull the wool over your eyes.
“All that is now, and all that is gone, and all that’s to come – and everything under the sun is in tune but the sun is eclipsed by the moon…”
Jupiter (in Aquarius) trines the True Node (in Gemini) on February 26th. The emphasis is on growth, learning and improvement. This conjunction cah help us move past our fears. This energy is a welcome boost to the positive aspects of this week’s card.
Jupiter moves us to trust our highest vision. This trine to the North Node enhances our intuition. We may seek group causes and endeavors. We’re motivated to help others as well as ourselves.
Our ability to communicate – both to verbalize and to listen – improves during this transit. We teach and learn.
“Giant steps are what you take walking on the moon. I hope my legs don’t break walking on the moon…”
The Full Moon in Earth-sign Virgo on February 27th brings awareness and focus. Things requiring organization and order get our full attention. Areas that we’ve neglected and tasks we’ve put off get resolved in record time.
Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes succumbing to fear. Hysteria. Paranoia. Indulging in drugs or alcohol to escape reality. Any or all these can only worsen matters and trap us in a hall of mirrors.
Let’s focus on trusting to our intuitive knowledge. Deep understanding brings great rewards this week. Connect your dreaming and dreamlike intuition to your waking consciousness. In this way, we can turn dreams – rather than nightmares – into reality.
Power colors: crimson, silver, black and silver-flecked white. Violet and pale blue-green.
Power stones: emeralds, amethyst, aquamarine and sapphire. Wear these as jewelry or carry as power stones for courage and much-need illumination.
Power metal: tin. Not great for wearing, but a good reminder in this way. Treatment with a coating of tin prevents other metals from corrosion. We can use our waking consciousness to protect the powerful energy of our intuition.
Power fragrances: heliotrope, carnation, opium and belladonna. These will help us stay tuned into and focused on the light in the darkness.
Power foods: foods prepared with members of the nightshade family – tomatoes and peppers. Also, foods made with poppy seeds, lotus root and coconut. Tea brewed from jasmine or wintergreen. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.
