Your Weekly Tarotcast™: The Fool Tarot card – Free Tarot Reading

Weekly Tarotcast™: 10-15-19 through 10-22-19

The Fool Tarot Card

The Fool Tarot card is this week’s Tarotcast, a free Tarot reading for you. The Fool tarot card represents the unlimited potential of the human spirit. Purity of intent and action. He is actually NO fool. He is simply innocent of experience and embarking on the first steps of his journey. This is the journey through the spiritual paths of the Tarot and through everyday life.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card travels path 12. It joins sephiroth or sphere 1, Kether (Crown) to sephiroth or sphere 3, Binah (Understanding). Its Hebrew letter is Beth (meaning “house”). This includes not only the homes in which we live – but the temple or house of God.

One of the many secrets of the Fool – and there are many – is his direct, pure connection to the Divine. Many cultures have celebrated and revered this holy innocent. He dances through the streets in his motley clothes, clowns around and pulls silly faces. He invites us to get in on the answer to the great cosmic riddle. He tells us the punch-line to the big cosmic joke. That everything is no-thing, “zero” – limitless potential. And that happens to be his number in the Tarot Major Arcana.

Astrology

The Fool tarot card is the Planetary Trump of Mercury. Mercury is the wing-footed messenger of the Gods, as well as the Trickster and Juggler. Childlike rather than childish, he trusts his instincts and creative imagination. We would do well to emulate him.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Libra. Libra’s loving yet analytical approach to life is a nice complement to this week’s card. Mercury is transiting Water-sign Scorpio along with Venus (Libra’s ruling planet). With Mercury in Scorpio we seek the truth. This is complementary to the energy of this week’s card. We are willing to look beyond and beneath, to go undercover. Our thoughts are deep and analytical. This provides a balance to some of the impulsivity of this week’s card.

Honesty is admirable but there is a tendency to be blunt. Avoid insensitivity. Intuition is strong and insights are accurate. Explore a mystery and solve a riddle.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes rash, irresponsible behavior. Pushing too far too fast. Carelessness, and losing complete touch with reality, along with possible dishonesty and deception.

Light

Let’s focus on being open and receptive to new beginnings and new projects. Let’s be willing to start the steps of our journey even if the destination, goal or outcome isn’t yet clear.

Alchemy

Power colors: pale yellow, sky blue, purple, violet and emerald green. Wear them all together at the same time if you’re feeling particularly FOOL-ish.

Power stones: diamond, jade, aquamarine, turquoise and emerald.
Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. These will help us enter unknown territory with trust, enthusiasm and optimism. And we will find treasure along the path.

Power metals: mercury and zinc. Neither is wearable. But their qualities remind us to be flexible. Be ready to connect with others for strength. Manage ever-changing circumstances with grace.

Power fragrances: iris, valerian, lavender, lilac, vervain, jasmine and geranium. These will help you manifest positive, creative and transformative energy this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with parsley, dill, rosemary, lemongrass, mace, peppermint and tarragon. Teas brewed from jasmine or peppermint. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Your Weekly Tarotcast™: The Hierophant – Free Tarot Reading

Weekly Tarotcast™: 10-08-19 through 10-15-19

The Hierophant

The Hierophant card

The Hierophant is this week’s Tarotcast card, a free Tarot reading for you. The Hierophant card was known as the Pope in the earliest tarot decks. He is now a high priest, vital and powerful, partnered with his Scarlet Woman. He represents a teacher, priest or religious leader. He can also be a representative of the law (including police officers and attorneys). The powers that be will be powerful indeed this week! We’ll contend with corporate, academic, religious or legal entities. Also any authority figures within our personal sphere.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card travels path 16. It joins sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom) the Divine Masculine/Yang with sephiroth or sphere 4, Chesed (Mercy) Jupiter, the rule of law. Its Hebrew letter is Vau, meaning “nail.” We use nails to build and secure a structure. But we can also get “nailed” if we’re not careful and we’re doing things we ought not do.

Astrology

This card is the zodiacal trump of Taurus, with Venus ruling and the Moon exalted.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Air-sign Libra (co-ruled by Venus). On October 8th Venus enters Water-sign Scorpio. Taurus and Scorpio are polar opposites on the wheel of the zodiac. Relationships intensify and emotions run high and hot. Growth and change through deep intimacy are indicated. Opposites do attract – the challenge is balancing that which draws us closer together and what may eventually drive us apart.

The Full Moon in Aries October 13th reminds us to honor both ourselves and others in our relationships. Leadership is highlighted. It’s easy to begin new projects. We step into our authority with ease, making this energy harmonious with that of this week’s card.

When Jupiter forms a minor challenging aspect to Uranus (in Taurus) on October 14th we may feel restless or frustrated. Our dreams may seem impossible or they no longer inspire us. Steer clear of get-rich-quick schemes or propositions that seem too good to be true.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes intolerance. Here is arrogance and a bad case of the know-it-alls. When structure and tradition go to extremes, they become a cage. We are in a prison, stifling freedom and thwarting change.

Light

Let’s focus on our connection to our higher selves. Trust that mundane events and situations are guiding us toward our true purpose. We discover and explore our connection to the divine. We don’t need a human mediator when using this card’s most potent energy.

Alchemy

Power colors: red, orange, deep indigo, rich brown and warm olive. Our daily prayers and meditations take on a more formal element of ritual this week. Wear clothing in these colors while praying or meditating to enhance your experience.

Power stones: amethyst, citrine and fire opals. Wear these as jewelry or carry them as power stones. You’ll feel connected to and a part of something greater than yourself. This would be a great week to walk a labyrinth!

Power metals: copper. Flexible yet strong. A superior conductor of heat and electricity.

Power fragrances: frankincense, rose, violet and hibiscus. Also coconut, jasmine, sandalwood, strawberry, vanilla or vervain. All will bring stability and a sense of larger purpose to your life this week.

Power foods: foods prepared with essence of rose or violet. Coconut, lotus root, apple, strawberry and vanilla. Also tea brewed from jasmine, hibiscus or rose hips. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Your Weekly Tarotcast™: 2 of Cups – Free Tarot Reading

Weekly Tarotcast™: 10-01-19 through 10-08-19

2 of Cups

The 2 of Cups is this week’s Tarotcast card, a free Tarot reading for you. The 2 of Cups symbolizes romantic love, marriage and partnerships. It is a more accurate depiction of these than the Major Arcana card, the Lovers. This tarot card can show a friendship developing into a romantic relationship. It can mean an engagement or marriage. It also includes the pleasure of enjoying the company of our good friends and family.

The Elements

The Goddess of Love in the house of the Moon elevates Water to its most transcendent level of energy. Receptivity and reflection create unconditional love.

The Number 2

The Twos of the Minor Arcana show balanced but polarized states. The twos are duality. This is our way of seeing and being in the world to understand it. Here we weigh and balance things against their opposites. Good vs. bad, dark vs. light, positive vs. negative. Until we differentiate, we can’t resolve and unify.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, this card represents the formula 2. Here is sephiroth or sphere 2, Chokmah (Wisdom). The sphere of the Zodiac, the Divine Masculine or Yang energy). In the suit of Cups. Briah, the creative world; the element of Water. Our feelings and emotions plus Venus in Cancer equaling Love.

Astrology

This card symbolizes Venus in Cancer. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Cancer, or June 21st to July 1st. If your birthday falls on or between these dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. This card depicts the element of water in its best and highest form. Harmony between male and female energies (Yin and Yang), joy and pleasure. Use this gentle, positive energy to open your heart and connect with the people you love.

In real-time astrology, the Sun is transiting Air-sign Libra (ruled by Venus). On October 3rd, Pluto will turn direct.

That same day Mercury enters Cancer’s fellow Water-sign, Scorpio. This transit finds us seeking the truth. We explore all hidden depths. We will be observant and laser-focused. This energy can work well with that of this week’s card as we look for the real in love rather than the rose-colored view. Take care to remain gentle with your perceptions. Intuition will be strong and insights profound.

When Mars enters Libra on October 4th we will be assertive in a courteous, diplomatic way. We seek cooperation. This energy complements this week’s card. Our focus is on friendship, social life, marriage and romantic relationships.

Venus enters Scorpio on October 8th. This energy is intensely passionate, emotional and sexual. Enjoy, but remain respectful of others.

Shadow

The shadow energy of this card includes disillusionment and separation. Loving energy disrupted or resisted through fear or rejection.

Light

Let’s focus on enjoying the positive aspects by spending time with people we like. Let attractions blossom with people we want to get to know and like even better. It’s a great week to flirt, begin dating, or even fall in love! We can develop an existing relationship and see it move forward in a positive direction.

Alchemy

Power colors: pearl gray, emerald green, sky blue and pale pink for Venus. Amber, maroon and russet for Cancer.

Power stones: emerald, opal, jade, sapphire and lapis lazuli. Wear these as jewelry, or carry them as power stones to awaken feelings of love and attraction.

Power metals: silver (for Cancer) and copper (for Venus). I’d opt for the silver of course, but choose whichever makes you happiest, alternate or even combine them.

Power fragrances: poppy, white rose, violet, wild rose, bergamot, geranium, hibiscus, and plumeria. Use these to create a sensuous, relaxed mood. These scents will help you deepen an existing relationship or to attract new love into your life. Use them to help you draw in what (and who) will make you truly happy.

Power foods: fruits and vegetables will make tasty meals for those we love. Cancer rules the stomach, Venus the heart – so the way to our loved one’s heart is through their stomach! Prepare foods with apples, watercress, strawberries, poppy seeds and vanilla. Brew teas from hibiscus, rose hips and bergamot. All provide the same beneficial effects already described.

Your Weekly Tarotcast™: Five of Cups – Free Tarot Reading

Weekly Tarotcast™: 9-24-19 through 10-01-19

Five of Cups

5 of Cups Thoth Tarot card.

The Five of Cups, a free Tarot reading for you. This week’s Tarotcast card focuses on disappointment, regret and loss. Notice I say focused on. We may be dwelling on negative feelings from past experiences. We’d be better off focusing on events that are actually occurring here and now, in the present.

The Elements

Here, Fire and Water seek mutual annihilation rather than cooperation. Scorpio’s waters dissolve and putrefy, thwarting Mars’ action.

The Number 5

The Fives of the Minor Arcana challenge order and structure. Their suit and element get shaken out of complacency, stagnation or stasis. They bring a period of cleansing, regeneration, or reassessment in events and relationships. The number 5 keeps energy flowing. Otherwise, the solidification and stability created by the fours would degenerate into inertia.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life, this card represents the formula 5. We begin with sephiroth or sphere 5, Geburah (Strength). The sphere of Mars; motion, aggression, storms and stress. Combined with the suit of Cups (Briah, the creative world, the element of Water – our emotions). Plus Mars in Scorpio equaling “Disappointment.”

Astrology

This card represents Mars in Scorpio. It rules from 0 to 10 degrees Scorpio (October 23rd to November 1st). If your birthday falls on or between those dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. This attribution wouldn’t appear to be a problem. Mars was the traditional ruler of Scorpio before Pluto’s discovery. With Pluto demoted (or is it a planet again?) Mars becomes its only ruling planet once again. Issues arise from Mars being too comfortably at home here. Mars’ wants fiery, disruptive action. Scorpio seeks watery, deep and secretive transformation.

In real-time astrology, the Sun entered Air-sign Libra on September 23rd. This is the autumn equinox and first day of fall in the Northern Hemisphere. Next-door neighbors on the wheel of the Zodiac, Libra has lessons for Scorpio. Rational, mental Air energy can harmonize with emotional Water’s deep, intuitive understanding. This combination can bring the head and heart into alignment. From this perspective we have a nice complement to the energy of this week’s card.

Saturn opposes the True North Node of the Moon on September 28th. This energy intensifies that of this week’s card. Clinging to old beliefs and habits prevents us from growing. Fear of change can keep us stuck in what’s familiar even if that no longer serves us.

New Moon in Libra on September 28th. The energy of this lunation is optimistic and cooperative. We’ll pay more attention to our relationships. This energy is excellent for negotiation and building partnerships. This is also a great time for resolving conflicts.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes resistance to change. We’re unable to release negative feelings and we’re clinging to negative past events. Obsession with past mistakes (our own or those of others) creates bitterness.

Light

Let’s focus on letting bygones be bygones, picking up the pieces, and moving forward. We have the ability through conscious choice to focus on what we DO have. This is preferable to dwelling on what we’ve lost or haven’t yet received or accomplished.

Alchemy

Power colors: scarlet red, black, azure blue and deep greenish-blue.

Power stones: ruby, bloodstone, garnet and jet (Mars). Or, choose topaz (Scorpio). Worn as jewelry or carried as power stones, these will help balance and mellow out the intense energy. They allow us to gain new hope by relinquishing the past.

Power metals: iron (Mars) and plutonium (Pluto). Neither is good for wearing. They do remind us that strength coupled with adaptability can serve us well. If ill-used, destruction results.

Power fragrances: heather, wild rose, pine, carnation and poppy. These will help us process past experiences. We can heal, take action in the present and move into the future.

Power foods: sweet basil, allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. All will enhance the benefits previously described.

Your Weekly Tarotcast™: 7 of Wands

Weekly Tarotcast™: 9-17-19 through 9-24-19

7 of Wands

7 of Wands

The 7 of Wands is this week’s Tarotcast card. This card warns us that we may be wasting our energy this week. There is a struggle going on for sure. Feelings of bravery and assertiveness against feelings of degeneration and weakness. There are challenges and obstacles galore. We may feel as if no one has our back – our struggle is ours alone, and there may not be much help or support. If we do achieve a victory, it’s likely to come through our own efforts.

The Elements

The Fire of Leo burns hot with bravery and inspiring leadership. But it can also lose itself in the heat of Martial battle, destroying everything in sight. Discipline dissolves into chaos and disorder.

The Number 7

The Sevens of the Minor Arcana illustrate the motives behind manifestation. The balance of the sixes gives way to questioning and exploration. Disruption arises from the search for the underlying causes of action. The Sevens dissolve and deconstruct.

Kabbalah

On the Tree of Life this card represents the formula 7. Sephiroth or sphere 7, Netzach (Victory) sphere of Venus. Illusion, imbalance, weakness. In the suit of Wands (Atziluth, the archetypal world). The element of Fire; the will. Plus Mars in Leo equaling Valour.

Astrology

The 7 of Wands card represents Mars in Leo. It rules from 20 to 30 degrees Leo, or August 12th through August 22nd. If your birthday falls on or between these dates, you’ll be feeling this week’s energy even more than the rest of us. Mars in Leo is ambitious and idealistic, with the ability to persevere. Valour is another word for courage. In this case it may come across as vanity, bravado, false machismo, or senseless resistance.

In real-time astrology, the Sun continues its transit of Earth-sign Virgo through September 23rd. It enters Air-sign Libra on the Autumnal Equinox, the first day of fall. Virgo’s practical energy can help offset some of the negative aspects of this week’s card. Libra’s calm and diplomatic nature can also offer some relief. Venus-ruled Libra corresponds to this card’s position on the Tree of Life. Netzach, sphere of Venus has a weakening effect. Cool, rational thinking may save the day.

Saturn turns direct on September 18th in its home sign of Earthy Capricorn. We’re ready to fulfill our responsibilities. Our goals are realistic. We’re aware of our limitations, but clear about our long-term plans.

Shadow

Misuse, darkening or the shadow energy of this card includes indecisiveness. Blind ignorance. Swaggering arrogance with nothing to back it up. A mismatch between our assertiveness and our plain old good sense. If there was ever a week to choose your battles wisely, this would be the one.

Light

Let’s focus on conserving our energy. Let’s use it as positively as we can. More, let’s realize that sometimes the most courageous thing we can do is forgo a battle – just skip it. Bravery can mean walking away from a battle we’re guaranteed to lose.

Alchemy

Power colors: amber, all shades of red, yellow and deep purple.

Power metals: Mars iron and Leo gold. Wear the Leo (yellow or rose) gold to remind you of Leo’s big-hearted courage but skip the Lion’s arrogance and vanity. We can’t wear iron, but it can remind us of when to show true strength and what that looks like.

Power stones: ruby, bloodstone, garnet, amber and diamond. Wear as jewelry or carry as power stones to avoid the tendency to be hot-headed or combative this week.

Power fragrances: marigold, sunflower, wild rose, pine, and tobacco (no, you don’t need to smoke it!). These will keep us focused on winnable battles, and to make good use of our energy and time.

Power foods: foods prepared with allspice, cayenne, garlic, ginger and pepper. Also thistle (think artichokes!) Along with beverages made from hops (beer), or wormwood (the Green Fairy – absinthe). In moderation, of course. All will enhance the benefits previously described.

The Tarotcast comes to you FREE each week, with a new post every Tuesday!
